Ted Bravakis

Ted is co-founder and partner of bravacomm, where he leads communications strategy and advisory services for clients such as BMO Financial Group, Raymond James, Novo Nordisk Canada Inc. and Sun Life. Ted has more than 30 years of experience in communications and public relations, advising some of the world’s leading organizations on communications strategy, issues management and employee engagement.

As a communications coach and trainer, Ted has delivered workshops and individual coaching to C-suite leaders, covering topics such as Trust Mastery for Communicators, Communications as a Management Tool, Risk Management, and Change Communications.

Before founding bravacomm in 2010, Ted was the first Director of Public Relations at the Cayman Islands Ministry of Finance. For 7 years, he led the government’s global communications strategy for the financial services industry – focused on its hedge funds, captive insurance, and reinsurance sectors. His work covered investment marketing, communications, and issues management for client growth in the U.S., UK, Europe, Canada, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Before Cayman, Ted spent almost 10 years in the corporate and public affairs practice at Edelman, the world’s largest public relations firm based in the Toronto office, working on behalf of major global clients, including UPS, Ericsson, and Pfizer.

Ted holds a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is also a Certified Applications Professional, licensed by Decision • Partners, in Mental Modelling InsightTM – a behavioural science research tool for developing strategy, policy, and communications programs.

Ted is an accredited member and a Fellow of the Canadian Public Relations Society and is an active volunteer in CPRS’ accreditation and awards programs. Ted also serves on the advisory committee of Humber Polytechnic’s Bachelor of Public Relations degree program.
